Lasitha Wimalaratne is the CEO of HNB Assurance PLC, Sri Lanka bringing over 27 years of career experience including 24 years in Life Insurance. Before joining HNB Assurance, he has worked with both multinational and local giants including AIA, Aviva, Softlogic Life and Union Assurance and gained 3 years of retail Sales and Marketing exposure in London.
He holds an MBA from the University of Wales, and a BA (Hons) from the University of Sunderland. He is a Chartered Insurer and a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute and a Fellow of the ANZIIF and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
Lasitha has served in many industry leadership roles, including the current Vice President of the Insurance Association of Sri Lanka and the 18th President of the Sri Lanka Insurance Institute. He was also a Board Director at the Biodiversity Sri Lanka from 2022 to 2024
