Relevant Experience
Sean Deehan is the Head of Hong Kong & Macau and the Greater Leader for Insurance Consulting and Technology, at WTW, based in Hong Kong.
Sean has over 27 years of life insurance and pensions experience, including 15 years in the UK and more than 12 years working in Mainland China and Hong Kong. Prior to joining WTW, Sean was the Chief Executive of a UK-owned life insurer in Hong Kong where he led the transaction to sell the business to the group’s Mainland China JV life insurance unit. Before that, he lived in Mainland China and served as the Chief Actuary, CRO and DGM of the JV life insurance business, leading the actuarial, risk management, product development and marketing functions.

Extensive enterprise risk management and corporate governance experience, including roles as CRO and Non-Executive Director & member of Audit, Risk Management, Strategy, Investment and Remuneration Committees
Mergers and acquisitions (M&A) – led the sell-side process and integration planning for a Hong Kong Life insurer and led sell-side advisory support on multiple projects relating to Hong Kong insurers
Chief Executive and Executive Director of Hong Kong insurer, leading the business successfully through a complex cross-border sale process
Led the Strategy & Business Planning functions for insurance businesses in UK and Hong Kong including Product strategy development & implementation across comprehensive range of Life and Group Medical insurance products
Supported the successful acquisition of Pension Insurance company license for China JV insurer, the first Pension license granted to a foreign-JV insurer
Successfully led a wide-reaching and complex Participating Fund independent review engagement with a major Hong Kong based insurer

Education and Credentials
Sean is a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (FFA), a Fellow of the Actuarial Society of Hong Kong (FASHK) has a Global Executive MBA from INSEAD business school. He currently serves on the ASHK Council and is Co-Chair of the Innovation Committee and Pension & Employee Benefits Committee.
