Satyanandan Atyam currently holds the position of Chief Risk Officer for TATA AIG General Insurance Limited. He has holds the Financial Risk Management (FRM) from Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP)

A result oriented professional, Satyanandan brings with him over 21 years of illustrious international industry experience spread over Europe, Middle East, and Asia Pacific into domains of Enterprise risk, Operational risk Financial Risk, Information Security, IT Risk Management, Data Privacy, Data protection, Risk advisory, IT audit & Outsourcing risk. As a trusted advisor to CEOs, Executive committees, CIOs, CTOs, CPOs, and GCs, he is valued for thought leadership, technical acumen, and business-positive approach to managing risks to business & Information.

He started his career with auditing at ICICI Lombard, then moving onto working as the Senior Business Analyst in the Risk Management Systems at National Stock Exchange. He further went onto work with some well renowned organizations including IBM, and Bharti AXA General Insurance where he was working as Head of Risk Management function and given an extended responsibility to Head-Cyber Security Risk department for Bharti AXA Life insurance company ltd. Prior to joining TATA AIG, Satyanandan was associated with Max Bupa Health Insurance as Vice President and Chief Risk Officer

In the course of his career, Satyanandan has won multiple accolades including ‘Golden Peacock Award’for risk management, instituted by Institute of Directors (IOD), 2018; he was also a recipient of warded the DSCI Excellence Awards - ‘Privacy Leader of the Year 2015’ at the NASSCOM-DSCI -Annual Information Security Summit- December 2015, additionally, he was also awarded the ‘Best Risk Management Team’ among the 9 ASIA PACIFIC, AXA entities, 2011. Additionally, he has also been awarded as “Innovator of the Year” for, specific work in Bharti AXA General Insurance andrecognized as a thought leader in Cyber Security in Indian Subcontinent and abroad at various
platforms and conferences. He was also associated with Cyber security startup environment with Ivy cap Ventures as a mentor to the startups for advisory on solutioning and go to market strategy. As a head of the subcommittee of the General Insurance (GI) council for Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDPA) he created a risk framework to assess the impact of DPDPA on Insurance Industry. He is also associated as an advisory Board member for the Data security council of India (NASSCOM) DSCI Sectoral Privacy Project

As a regular speaker and thought leader, Satyanandan has also volunteered as a Speaker at NASSCOM-DSCI Annual Information Security Summit, GARP (Global Association of Risk Professionals), Indian School of Business (ISB) etc. In his leisure time, he writes columns for leading publications in the country including The Economic Times, Express Computers, he is also has published a white paper in the leading isc2 journal Taylor & Francis- “Information Security Journal: A Global Perspective”. He’s also passionate about extending his learnings to academia and delivers guest lectures at National Insurance Academy (NIA), Pune.
