Michelle Ip has more than a decade of experience in insurance and insurtech start-ups, including greenfield market entry and business development across multiple countries across Asia. She is a professionally trained CPA and started her career at PwC in assurance and corporate advisory.

Her career in the insurance industry started at AIA on the strategy team before moving to Manulife eventually becoming Associate Director. Michelle helped Manulife set up the first life insurance company in Cambodia and was previously the founding member of the digital arm of FWD Hong Kong. In 2018, she founded her fintech start-up, Sugar AI which was later integrated into bolttech.

Michelle joined IXT in 2022 as the VP of Strategy and later promoted to Chief Commercial Officer, helping IXT to expand its footprint to South Korea, Vietnam, Malaysia and Cambodia. She assumed the role of CEO of OneDegree Global this year. Michelle completed her Master’s degree in International Relations at the London School of Economics.
